Holtwood Ponds

ABOUT THE VENUE
These three ponds dug on old brickworks with a clay bottom offer the carp angler a chance again to down scale on tackle and fish almost match tactics to bag up with mirror carp.
Major works have now been finished on the ponds and now offers members a chance to fish all but in name a new fishery.
With the majority of fish mirror carp but with commons present these ponds are also used as stock ponds with the bigger fish earmarked for movement on to our other carp waters. With the bank sides and islands now all growing up after renovations the committee has already had positive feedback from many anglers regarding the looks and catches on the lake and this will only improve as time goes by. With a good number of fish stocked on top of the existing, these ponds offer a chance for our members to catch good fighting fish in a easy environment. Depths range from 4 to 8 feet but generally it’s pretty even all round the ponds. This is a popular match fishery with 100lb bags of carp not uncommon is a regular on the match calendar so check your book for match dates before fishing. There is a 1 rod limit until Nov and a club key is required to gain access to this fishery. Please limit your lines and hooks on this water as fish only go to mid doubles and big hooks and lines have no place here. Fishing is from designated swims only. This is a day water only and night fishing is not permitted on this fishery
