ABOUT THE VENUE
Apart from the section just below Winkton Weir this lower
section of the fishery is almost never fished. Any angler
fishing this section can feel like a pioneer, a lot of hard
work will be required to find the fish but they are there.
A long walk is required to reach swims so travel light. The
stretch holds a few chub with them averaging 4lb with a few
which are a lot bigger. There are lots of pike down towards the
willows next to Coward’s Marsh with fish reported to well over
20lb. Barbel are there too in unknown numbers, fish have been
reported to 12lb. Small Roach and Dace are there but can be a
little hard to catch in any numbers.

Access/ Parking
Park in club car park next to the lay-by near to Winkton relief
weir (a club key is required). Then you can either wall up stream
and cross the relief Weir Bridge or make your way down stream. The
car park at Quinton’s is unavailable at the moment so it’s a long
walk from one of the side roads off the B3347
The west bank access also requires a long walk. Park in Marsh Lane
(there is limited parking where indicated on map) and cross Coward’s

to find due to walk ways becoming over grown.
