Wessex Branch of the Salmon & Trout Association in conjunction with Christchurch Angling Club offer a day course
Fly Fishing For Trout
16th March, 15th June, 21st September (9:30am – 4:30pm)
Whitesheet Lakes, Verwood
(places are restricted and pre booking essential)
The objective of the day course is to give instruction in Fly Fishing for Trout - healthy outdoor exercise and promotes a caring attitude towards the environment. It is suitable for all those interested in fishing from those with little or no experience of fly fishing to more accomplished flyfishers. Open to adults and children over the age of 10. Fishing tackle supplied
The course will include:
- Fishing health and safety
- Fly Fishing Tackle
- Life Cycle of the Trout
- Entomology and Fly Recognition
- Watercraft and Fishing Etiquette
- Conservation
- Individual and Group Instruction on Fly Casting
  - How to:-
- Hook , Play and Land a Fish
- Handling Dispatching and Returning Fish
- Free Fishing Time with Casting Clinic
- Summary and Dismissal
The cost of the course is £12.50 for individuals, £20 for parent and child. The course is run
by qualified instructors Licensed Coaches who have not only been assessed for their technical
ability but have received first aid and child protection training as well as being police checked.
